11) Why were bastions made in the fort wall ?
Ans : Bastions were made for the safety of the fort from the enemies.
22) Why were big holes made in them ?
Ans : Big holes were made in the bastions which makes easier for the soldiers of the fort to see the enemies coming at a long distance and attack them.
33) What difference would be there if you were to look from a straightflat wall or a bastion at a height ? How would the soldiers find peeping from the holes in the bastions useful while attacking ?
Ans : Bastions are always built at a height which gives the soldiers to look at various directions. But if soldiers look from straight walls thenit would be possible for them to look only at one directions.

11) How would the fountains have worked ?
Ans : Fountains would have worked by getting their water supply from large tanks or reservoirs.
22) What arrangements would have been made in the building for air and light ?
Ans : Large doors, windows and ventilatiors would have been made to allow air and light enter the buildings.
33) Look carefully at the picture of the beautiful carving on the wall. What kind of tools would have been used for such fine carving ?
Ans : Extremely sharp cutting tools and hammer made up of iron would have been used for such fine carving.
4) We still do not have any electricity at many places in our country. Even at places which do not have electricity, imagine what would happen if there was no electricity for one week. What are the things that would be difficult to manage without it ?
Ans : In our country in some places we still don’t have electricity, it is very true. If there was no electricity for one week then we would not get water. Computer, Tv, Fridge, Telephone/Mobile, Fan and Air Conditioner will not work. The complete situation will be very panic.
