Ans :    In the class a discussion was going on.

Ans :   Jane was the quiet one in the class.

    (iii)  she didn't like the activity.

    (iv)  she was quiet by nature.

Ans.    (iv)     she was quiet by nature.

4.    How do you interact in class during discussions? Do you participate or remain quiet?

Ans.     I always participate in the class during discussions and i don't remain quiet.

I have 2 friends Shailesh and Amit in my class.    In the classroom they both sit in the same bench.    They both are of different nature.    Shailesh is very naughty and careless but Amit is very quiet and studious.    Shailesh does not share his tiffin with anyone but Amit is very helpful and cheerful.    Shailesh is not regular to school but Amit is regular to school and friendly with everyone.

1.            What is a Discussion?

Ans :    The process of talking together about something to                              reach a decision is called Discussion.

1 (A).    What happens in a Discussion ?

Ans :    The process which  happens in a discussions are stated                         below :-

(a)       In a discussions every person gives his ideas.

(b)       Some person may tell why certain things should be done.   

(c)       Some person may tell how to do that certain things. 

(d)       Participants may ask question and answer it.

(e)       Many ideas may be discussed and finally a best ideas may              be finalised.

2.        Fill in the grid given below by assigning qualities to each                   person. Some clues are given here to help you.

1)    Have you recently read or heard about any country attacking or going to war with another country ?

Ans :    Yes, i heard in the television and newspaper about Pakistan which is attacking India to war.

2)    Find out what was the reason for this war.

Ans :    The main reason is Terrorism.  Terrorist uses violence against civilians by killing so that they can occupy Indian territory.

3)    What kind of weapons were used in this war ?

Ans :    The weapons like granides, guns, missiles etc were used in the war.

4)    What kind of destruction were caused because of this ?

Ans :     Civilians were killed and many soldiers have also lost their life because of the war.

The big gun that Shreedhar saw was made of bronze.

1)    Have you seen anything made of bronze ? What ?

Ans :    I have seen many things made of bronze which is of my grandmother. The following is the items as below :-

  

                                                                     

Tribal people have been using bronze to make many things since thousand of years.  One wonders how they took out copper and tin from the deep inies, melted these metals and turned them into beautiful things !

2)    Find out from your elders about some of the things made from bronze that were, or are still used in your house.  From its colour try to identify which one of them is made from copper, which from brass, and which from bronze.

Ans :    My grand parents have used bronze plate, bronze glass for drinking, bronze puja deep, bronze coin, etc 

The colour of  metals are different for individual metals. They are 

• Copper - reddish brown colour

• Brass -  ranging from red to yellow

• Bronze - metallic brown colour

Now imagine, 

1)    How would this garland of pots lift water from the well ?

Ans : The garland of pots draw water from the well with the help of the bullock.

Do you now get some idea about how the tanks could have been filled by lifting water from the wells? even today we can see clay pipes in the walls of the fort.  These pipes would have been used to carry water to different places in the palace.

2)    Have you seen such wheels attached to each other.  for example, in the gear of a cycle or somewhere else?

Ans :    I have seen watch, engines, sewing machine etc which has wheels attached to each other.

3)    Look around and find out how water is pumped up from the ground to higher places ?

Ans :    Water is pumped up from the ground to higher places by means of electric motors pump.

4)    How is water pumped up using electricity ? How is water lifted without electricity ?

Ans :    Water is pumped up by the electric motor from the ground to the higher places by electricity. If there is no electricity then the water from the ground level is lifted up by - tie a rope on the bucket and take the water up, by using a bullock, etc.

1)    What kinds of pots have you seen around you ?

Ans :    I have seen clay pots, copper pots, steel pots, aluminium pots etc.

2)    Try to find out from your grandparents about the other kinds of pots and pans they used in their time ?

Ans :    My grandparents have used utensils made of clay, copper, iron, etc in their time.

3)    Have you ever been to some museum or heard about it ? What all things are there in a museum ?

Ans :    I had been to a museum in madurai.  I saw many old pots, clay utensils, copper utensils, sword, dresses of old times etc.
